Track of The Month – December 2024
Circuit Zandvoort, Netherlands
This December, we are heading to the site of the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix as Zandvoort is The Race Centre’s Hotlapping Track of the Month!
Circuit Zandvoort is one of Europe’s most historic and challenging tracks, located near the North Sea, west of Amsterdam. Designed by John Hugenholtz, it opened in 1948 and quickly became known for its demanding layout that winds through sand dunes. The 2.6-mile track is famous for corners like the fast, undulating Scheivlak (Turn 7) and the slightly-banked Tarzanbocht (Turn 1), which has long encouraged overtaking.
Zandvoort hosted the Dutch Grand Prix from 1952 to 1985, witnessing iconic moments like Mario Andretti and James Hunt’s battle in 1977. Legendary drivers including Jimmy Clark, Niki Lauda, and Jacky Ickx all triumphed here. After closing in 1985 due to financial issues, it reopened in 2001 with updates like the Arie Luyendyk-bocht (Turn 14).
After a reconfiguration in 2020, Zandvoort returned to the Formula 1 calendar in 2021. Today, it hosts national and international racing events, maintaining its status as an iconic motorsport venue.
Circuit Zandvoort holds a special place in the world of motorsport, and promises to deliver an exciting challenge to hotlap this month!

You are welcome to drive any of the month’s vehicles at any time in an Open Practice Session. All lap times and telemetry are recorded for your immediate viewing and future reference.
New drivers to The Race Centre will be automatically classified as Class D drivers. Finishing top 3 in a class at the end of the month will gain you a promotion to the next class up.

Competition Terms and Conditions
To qualify for prizes and promotions, participants must register using their real, legal names. Entries under fake names will be ineligible.
All potential prize-winning laps must be verified by a TRC staff member. For a lap to be legal, your vehicle must have two or more wheels inside or touching the white lines at all times.
Vehicles must be running all standard TRC settings for the month.
Multiple Class wins within a month will result in prizes for the highest win only. Lower “wins” will be passed to the next highest competitors.
TRC Staff are not eligible to win prizes. Any winning positions held by staff will defer to the next highest driver.
Free entry to First Monday is for the next event and is non-transferable.
In order to win Free First Monday entry in Class A, you must be within the top 10% of fastest lap time for the month.
